It features a Château, a terrace designed by Le Nôtre dominating the valley of Paris, a private forest of over 3,500 hectares, and a location midway between Paris and Normandy via a dense transport network – the RER A (rapid regional rail line), the N13 and 184 main roads, and the nearby A13 and A14 motorways).

International companies have chosen the town for their head office, and it has a number of high quality schools including the “lycée international” (international high school). “This residential town is much sought after by a clientele in search of prestige, calm and natural surroundings, be they families, expatriates or people up from the provinces who work in La Défense or Rueil-Malmaison,” says Michel Montero, who owns his own agency.

The town centre, around the Château, offers an outstanding setting close to the private forest, with shops and the RER station. What is special about the town is the variety of its properties. “There are hôtels particuliers, old 19th-century mansions, millstone houses and also recent residences. A number of plots have been carved up and new houses built on them,” says Michel Montero.

The best addresses are “the rue de Tourville bordering the forest, rues Franklin and Jeanne d’Arc, the rue de Lorraine or rue Pereire, although the latter is considered too busy,” says Michel Montero. His agency recently sold in this area a contemporary house with a roof terrace and 1,200 sq. m. of land for €1.78 million. And in rue de Lorraine, a 330 sq. m. hôtel particulier on 800 sq. m of land for €2.2 million.

“You can find properties here of 230 to 350 sq. m. with land of 700 sq. m for between €1.5 and 1.7 million. They are in good condition and come with a good service package, and they sell in just a few days at market prices.
